NYRB on Blogs

This article sure makes blogging sound like a hella a lot of fun. The beginning explains some of the conventions of blogging to people too old to understand these conventions instinctively, while the second half argues that blogging is a whole new world where were such bourgeoise conceits as civility, good grammar and taste go out the window. Interesting.

I agree that blogs can be uncivil, but I think forums are much nastier places. If I had a million dollars, I'd flood the internet with "poor grammar on the internet is a sin against your mom" or something. Some guy thinks he can argue against my point on a forum, yet he can't even form a complete sentence. Rubbish.
